Long-term care groups, 490 others, call for enactment of COVID-related legal protections ‘as soon as possible’

Proposed legislation that would protect healthcare providers from COVID-19-related lawsuits “is critically needed and should be enacted as soon as possible,” 495 organizations, including several associations representing senior living and other long-term care providers, wrote in a letter to all members of Congress.

HHS extends Medicaid provider CARES Act funding application deadline — again; House passes HUD spending bill with $4.6 billion bump

The Department of Health and Human Services is extending until Aug. 28 the deadline for eligible state Medicaid providers, including assisted living operators, to apply for monies from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Provider Relief Fund. The announcement came on the same day that the House passed a fiscal year 2021 spending bill for the Department of Housing and Urban Development that represents a $4.6 billion increase over HUD’s FY20 enacted funding level.
