Independent living, assisted living and life plan communities (also known as continuing care retirement communities, or CCRCs) were among the 55+ housing types recognized Feb. 8 in Orlando, FL, as the winners of the National Association of Home Builders’ 2022 Best of 55+ Housing Awards were announced.

The ceremony honors excellence and innovation in the design, development, lifestyle and marketing of communities and homes that appeal to the “mature market.”

Silver: Providence Living at Maitland, Maitland, FL. The developer was Michelle Pierce. The builder was Welbro Building Corp. The architect was Forum Architecture & Interior Design. The interior designer was Interior Design Associates. The landscape architect / designer was Innovations Design Group.

Silver: Village on the Green, Longwood, FL. The developer was Lifespace Communities. The builder was Brasfield & Gorrie. The architect and interior designer was THW Design. The marketing firm was Lifespace Communities.

Silver: Arcadia Gardens, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The developer was United Group of Companies. The architect was Geheber Lewis Associates. The interior designer was Kathy Andrews Interiors. The land planner was United Development Services. The landscape architect/designer was Urban Design Kilday Studio.

Silver: Overture Albuquerque, Albuquerque, NM. The developer was Greystar. The builder was Pavilion Construction. The architect was Meeks + Partners.

Best of 55+ Housing Award: Full Continuum Living Community

Gold: Maravilla at the Domain, Austin, TX. The developer was Senior Resource Group. The builder was JE Dunn. The architect was Perkins Eastman.

Silver: Covenant Living of Cromwell, Cromwell, CT. The developer was Covenant Living Communities & Services. The builder was C.E. Floyd Co. The architect and interior designer was THW Design.

Silver: Wind Crest, Highlands Ranch, CO. The developer was Erickson Senior Living Development. The builder was Brinkmann Constructors. The architect was JHP Architecture / Urban Design. The interior designer was studioSIX5. The landscape architect / designer was Norris Design.
