Nursing and residential care wages increased 1.1% in the second quarter, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
Year-over-year, nursing and residential care saw a 5.5% increase in wages through June 30.
Overall, compensation costs rose by 1% from May to June, the BLS reported. Benefit costs increased 0.9% during that time frame.
Overall, year-over-year, compensation costs for private industry workers were up by 4.5% for the 12 months that ended June 30. Among private industry occupational groups, compensation cost increases for the 12-month period ending in June ranged from 4.1% for natural resources, construction and maintenance occupations to 5.3% for service occupations.
The overall cost of benefits increased 3.9% for the 12-month period that ended in June.
