The Justice Department, Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Health and Human Services have launched an online portal for the reporting of anticompetitive practices in healthcare.

Via HealthyCompetition.gov, the public can report potentially unfair and anticompetitive healthcare practices to the agencies.

The portal provides a “one stop shop for the public to report violations of competition laws and will allow the agencies to collaborate early and often, helping to promote economic opportunity and fairness for all,” Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division said in a statement.

“Competition in healthcare is crucial to ensuring fair and competitive wages across the healthcare sector and affordable and quality healthcare for all Americans,” he added. HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said that competitive healthcare markets lead to quality choices and lower costs for coverage.

Complaints submitted via the federal portal will be reviewed by the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division and the FTC. From there, if a complaint is found to have merit, then it will be investigated further by the appropriate agency.
