Pennsylvania is home to more headquarters of the not-for-profit multi-site senior living and care organizations listed on the LeadingAge Ziegler 200 list for 2022 than any other state.

The Keystone State is the location of 27 of the main offices.

The next states in line: Ohio (16 command posts); New York (15); Minnesota (13); Michigan (11); Illinois and Wisconsin (10 each); California (8); Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina and Texas (7 each) and Virginia (6).

Five of Pennsylvania’s multi-site organizational HQs are among the largest 25 organizations listed on the LZ 200. Those include Acts Retirement–Living Communities (No. 3), based in Fort Washington; the Kendal Corp. (17), Kennett Square; Presbyterian Senior Living (19), Dillsburg; Concordia Lutheran Ministries (21), Cabot; and Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania (14), Elizabethtown.

The top 25 also include three organizations with Minnesota headquarters, three with California HQs, two with Ohio headquarters and two with Missouri headquarters.

A total of 120 systems on the LZ 200 are located in the largest 30 metropolitan statistical areas. In those 30 largest MSAs, the most LZ 200 organizational headquarters can be found in Philadelphia and Minneapolis (10 each), St. Louis and Columbus, OH (9 each), and Chicago and Pittsburgh (8 each).
