Lifespace Communities appoints new CTO, CCO
Srini Alagarsamy has been named the chief technical officer, and Natallia Futrell has been named the chief clinical officer, at Lifespace Communities.
Alagarsamy brings more than two decades of experience in leading digital transformations for Fortune 100 companies, including General Motors Financial, Sallie Mae and Cigna.
Futrell’s background in leading clinical operations and developing systems for patient care, including tenure with Trinity Healthcare and StoneGate Senior Living positions her well for advancing Lifespace’s care models, the company said.
Sodalis Senior Living names new CFO, VP of operations
Mike McClain has been appointed chief financial officer, and Karen Arway has been appointed vice president of operations, at Sodalis Senior Living.
McClain comes from an investment and consulting company, focused on small to mid-market businesses offering executive management, accounting and financial solutions. He attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a BBA in accounting in 1993. He is a certified public accountant in Texas and Oklahoma.
Arway has worked in the senior living industry for more than 25 years for companies such as Emeritus Senior Living, Senior Lifestyle Corpo. and Holiday Retirement. After graduating from nursing school in the 1990s, she began her career as a floor nurse at an assisted living community.
Aviva Senior Living adds Suzanne Hudson-Smith as chief development officer
Suzanne Hudson-Smith has been named the chief development officer at Aviva Senior Living.
Hudson-Smith has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, development and nonprofit leadership. Most recently, she was development director at Parkinson Place and director of leadership and legacy giving at the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation.
Bridge adds Jules Johanson-Jones as national director of life engagement and memory care
Jules Johanson-Jones has been named the national director of life engagement and memory care at Bridge Senior Living.
Prior to joining Bridge Senior Living, Johanson-Jones earned 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry with a combined background in several aspects of senior care in roles including vice president of engagement, corporate/national director of engagement and dementia care, divisional director of resident programming and other senior operations roles. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and is also trained and certified through the Association Montessori Internationale.
Johanson-Jones is an alumna of John A Logan College and Southern Illinois University.
Kendal appoints Jennifer Karsten as governance advisor
Jennifer Karsten has been named governance adviser at The Kendal Corporation.
Karsten has extensive experience, including executive directorships, board memberships and strategic consultation, according to the company. She is a lifelong Quaker.
Juniper Communities promotes Stephanie Pressler to controller
Stephanie Pressler has been promoted to controller at Juniper Communities.
Pressler joined Juniper Communities in 2016, when the company acquired its Bensalem, PA, campus, now known as Juniper Village at Bucks County.
Covenant Living of Florida appoints Karen Harris as executive director
Karen Harris has been named executive director at Covenant Living of Florida.
Harris has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience in Southeast Florida, with responsibilities that have included various senior living environments as well as hospital operations. She most recently was the vice president of field operations for the Healthcare District of Palm Beach County.
Ridgeland Senior Living names Laura Romines executive director
Laura Romines has been named the executive director of Ridgeland Place, a Pegasus Senior Living community.
Romines joins Ridgeland Place with more than a decade of experience in senior living management. Before becoming executive director, she held various leadership positions in the senior living industry.
South Hill Village adds Jennifer Whitmyer as executive director
Jennifer Whitmyer has been named executive director of South Hill Village, a Pegasus Senior Living community.
Whitmyer has more than 12 years of experience in senior living.
Caring appoints new CEO, VP of partner success
Tracey Zhen has been named the CEO, and Susan Ruff has been named the vice president of partner success, at Caring.
Zhen brings more than 25 years of consumer technology experience to Caring. She most recently was president of the car-sharing network Zipcar.
Ruff has more than 18 years of experience in senior living and care.
Orchard Digital Marketing adds Bryan Reynolds as director of client partnerships and strategy
Bryan Reynolds has been named director of client partnerships and strategy at Orchard Digital Marketing.
Prior to joining Orchard, Bryan served for 11 years at Episcopal Retirement Services, culminating in his role as vice president of marketing. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.
Kendal’s Howard Braxton appointed to board of Friends Services Alliance
Howard Braxton, senior vice president of marketing, communications and sales at Kendal, has been appointed to the board of Friends Services Alliance.
Howard has more than 35 years of career experience in sales and marketing management in senior living and health care. His experience spans work with a variety of aging services providers, including independent living, assisted living, life plan communities and life plan at home, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, and home health care services.
Springpoint distributes awards at annual leadership conference
More than 200 leaders from all 29 Springpoint communities and affiliates came together on Wednesday, March 27, for the annual Springpoint Leadership Summit at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, NJ.
The Summit concluded with an awards ceremony that acknowledged Springpoint individual, programmatic, and community achievements for service excellence and exceptional engagement across two award categories: The Springpoint Excellence Awards and the President’s Awards.

LeadingAge honors Pamela Garofolo with inaugural leadership award
Pamela Garofolo, corporate director of Tapestries at United Methodist Communities in Neptune, NJ, was presented with a Leadership award from LeadingAge.

Benchmark distributes awards during 21st Annual Awards Gala
Benchmark Senior Living hosted its 21st Annual Awards Gala on March 7.
Nick Barash of Andover, MA, executive director of Benchmark at Rye, received the Benchmark 2023 President’s Award, which is the company’s highest honor for associates in a senior leadership role.
Greystone Farm at Salem received the Benchmark 2023 Circle Award. The Circle Award is an annual award honoring the Benchmark community that consistently achieves the highest ratings from resident and family surveys.
