Luthercare names Marissa Picchini CEO

Marissa Picchini has been named CEO of Lititz, PA-based Luthercare, effective July 1, following a search process.

Picchini joined Luthercare in 2020 and currently is the chief financial officer. She will succeed Carl McAloose, who will retire on June 30 after a 16-year career. 

McAloose “has been instrumental in guiding Luthercare through periods of significant growth and development,” the organization said. “Under his leadership, Luthercare has enhanced its facilities and expanded its services, significantly improving the quality of life for its residents and setting high standards in senior care.”

Claiborne names Christi Bounds corporate controller

Christi Bounds has been named corporate controller at Hattiesburg, MS-based Claiborne Senior Living.

Bounds has more than 12 years of both public accounting and private industry experience, with seven years in the logistics industry starting as an accountant, then a controller, then vice president of accounting for multiple legal entities.

Morning Pointe of Franklin names Tristan Pruitt executive director

Tristan Pruitt has been named the executive director of Morning Pointe of Franklin, Franklin, IN.

Pruitt previously was Lantern program director. She recently earned her Indiana residential care administrator license. 

Pruitt has an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech Community College and she also is a certified dementia practitioner.

Heron’s Key names Denise Cooksey HR director

Denise Cooksey has been named director of human resources at Heron’s Key, Gig Harbor, WA. 

Cooksey comes to Heron’s Key with more than two decades of HR management experience. She most recently worked as a senior benefits account manager in Tacoma, WA, and, prior to that, spent 19 years leading human resources for a Tacoma senior living community.

Cooksey is certified by both the Human Resources Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management. She also holds state insurance licenses in both Washington and California.

Juniper Village at South Hills adds Sherri Dillard as director of wellness

Sherri Dillard has been named the director of wellness at Juniper Village at South Hills, Pittsburgh. 

Before Juniper, Dillard worked as an agency nurse. She is an alumnus of the Western Area Career & Technology Center, graduating in 2015 as a licensed practical nurse.

Meadow Ridge promotes two

Anne Rysz has been named move-in coordinator, and Maura Leonard-Pasley has been named program coordinator in the mind and memory care neighborhood, at Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community in Redding, CT. 

Rysz has worked at Meadow Ridge since 2022 and most recently was a transportation administrator. Leonard-Pasley joined Meadow Ridge in 2023 as a program assistant for the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods.

Oak Trace promotes Patrick Caroll to resident liaison 

Patrick Carroll has been named resident liaison at Oak Trace Senior Living, a Lifespace community in Downers Grove, IL. 

Carroll joined the Oak Trace team late last year. He most recently was resident services manager.

National Health Investors names 3 board members

D. Eric Mendelsohn, Charlotte A. Swafford and Robert T. Webb were elected to serve on the National Health Investors Board of Directors at the Murfreesboro, TN-based real estate investment trust’s May 22 annual stockholders’ meeting, the REIT reported May 29 in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mendelsohn is president and CEO of the REIT and has been a director on the board since 2021. He has more than 20 years of healthcare real estate and financing experience, according to the company. Previously, Mendelsohn held titles including senior vice president of corporate development at the former Emeritus Senior LIving, where he worked for nine years. Before Emeritus, he was a transaction officer at the University of Washington and, before that, a practicing transaction attorney. He holds an undergraduate degree in international relations from American University, a law degree from Pepperdine University, and a master’s (LLM) degree in banking and finance from Boston University.

Swafford joined NHI as a director in 2020, according to the company. She was senior vice president and treasurer of National HealthCare Corp. from 1985 until her retirement in 2016. She had joined NHC in 1973 and also held the titles of staff accountant, accounting manager and assistant treasurer. Swafford has a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University.

Webb has been an NHI director since 1991. He owns commercial buildings and rental properties in Tennessee and is a subdivision developer. Additionally, he is the retired former president and principal owner of Webb’s Refreshments. Webb earned his undergraduate degree in business marketing from Middle Tennessee State University.

All three will serve three-year terms, until their successors are elected at the 2027 annual meeting of stockholders.

Brio Living Services employees honored by LeadingAge Michigan

Two Brio Living Services employees and one volunteer recently were honored at the LeadingAge Michigan Member Awards Gala on April 30, held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Kalamazoo Center in Kalamazoo, MI.

Brio Living Services’ chief human resources officer, Michelle Baldwin Henderson, received the LeadingAge Leadership in Action award. This honor recognizes an individual whose actions and leadership are deemed to have greatly enhanced the work environment in an organization and the quality of life for residents in the entire community.   

A certified nursing aide who chooses to remain anonymous was honored with the LeadingAge Caring Spirit Award, which recognizes the achievements of frontline and direct care personnel who are deemed to have demonstrated exemplary service, personal commitment and genuine care for older adults.

Sherri Rizzo, an independent living resident at Brio’s Chelsea Retirement Community, was named Volunteer of the Year for being deemed to have significantly enhanced and enriched the lives of older adults and for having a positive effect on the organization.
