Willow Valley Communities, Lancaster, PA, recently donated $10,000 to the School District of Lancaster’s high school seniors. The money will help students cover their college application fees, dorm room expenses or items necessary to start a new career.

“Willow Valley Communities is delighted to help high school seniors in the School District of Lancaster,” said John Swanson, CEO of Willow Valley Living. “Supporting the students of our city helps to support its future.”

Willow Valley Communities holds an annual Cornhole for a Cause tournament to raise money specifically for local high school graduates. Over the three years that the tournament has been held, over $24,000 has been collected to help more than 75 students from the area.

For this year’s tournament on May 4, residents, team members, families, vendors and school district staff members made up 18 cornhole teams to help raise money.

This is just one initiative that Willow Valley Communities puts forth to help children within the district. The organization also hosts a tutoring program through which residents help students with their classes, a pen pal project to help students improve their writing skills, and the Sneakers for School Program, which has provided thousands of shoes and socks for students.
