Bonita Springs, FL-based Discovery Senior Living has launched Discovery Management Group, or DMG, an internal restructuring that integrates existing and newly transitioned nationally branded communities under one umbrella.

Discovery Senior Living is a family of companies that includes national and regional brands, among them DMG, Integral Senior Living, Provincial Senior Living, Morada Senior Living, TerraBella Senior Living, LakeHouse Senior Living, Arvum Senior Living, Discovery Development Group, Discovery Design Concepts, STAT Marketing and Discovery At Home. DMG will operate with distinct eastern and western leadership teams, using the support resources available at the Discovery’s operational support centers in California and Florida.

“By segmenting our enterprise communities into distinct operating companies … we are able to provide localized operational and product expertise to optimize performance while providing best-in-class supportive services through our unique operational support centers, all with a goal to elevate the standard of experiences and care we provide nationwide,” Discovery CEO Richard J. Hutchinson said Tuesday in a statement.

Discovery has a growing portfolio of more than 300 communities and in excess of 30,000 homes across almost 40 states.

The company launched a new management company, LakeHouse Senior Living, in August with communities in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and in January added Arvum Senior Living to serve the company’s Midwest market.

As part of the announcement was the news that Dave Adams has been named president of DMG. Previously, Adams led Discovery’s acquisition and transition team, which oversaw the addition and successful integration of dozens of new communities to Discovery’s portfolio. He also led the start-up of TerraBella Senior Living as its first president.
Discovery was No. 5 on the American Seniors Housing Association’s 2023 ASHA 50 list of largest senior living operators, moving up from the No. 8 spot the previous year. The company also landed at No. 11 on Argentum’s 2203 list of the 150 largest senior living providers, slipping slightly from the No. 8 spot the prior year.
